About us
Since 1962, people
seeking vocational training for persons with
disabilities have looked to the Beaver County
Rehabilitation Center for assistance. Currently,
BCRC
serves more than 220 individuals at it’s production
centers in New Brighton. However, since August,
2001 BCRC has been able to provide a creative new work
opportunity for individuals with disabilities in Beaver
County. The new venture called Gifts Delivered
Featuring Candy Bouquet gives BCRC workers the
opportunity to create beautiful arrangements made of
gourmet candy, silk flowers, and others
items
for special occasions. According to Executive Director
Paulette Miller, “making decorative arrangements gave
BCRC workers the opportunity to create something
beautiful, while developing dexterity and
concentration.”
BCRC’s workers
have become adept at creating bouquets for a variety of
events. They make bouquets for weddings, get well
wishes, holidays, and just about any occasion.
Many businesses use the bouquets for corporate gifts.
In addition to bouquets, Gifts Delivered features
holiday wreaths, silk flower arrangements, Pittsburgh
Steelers items, and a variety of other gift items.
Ms. Miller is
grateful to BCRC’s workers for their commitment to the
new business. She says, “I credit our workers for
the success of the business. It has been wonderful
to watch their skills and confidence grow.” The
success of the new business was evident when “Gifts
Delivered Featuring Candy Bouquet” was named Candy
Bouquet,
International “Franchisee of the Month” in July of 2002.
Gift items can be
delivered anywhere within a twenty mile radius of New
Brighton, and they may be shipped anywhere in the world.
